Suzanne, a returning Venturer, tells us all about her experiences at Stonehenge, Time Team and DigVentures

‘Hi my name is Suzanne and I live in Stevenage, Hertfordshire.  I’ve been getting my hands dirty as an amateur archaeologist since 2001, when I stumbled across information about a training dig in Sussex. I signed up and have been addicted to the thrill of the dig ever since.

During the last 12 years I have been lucky enough to dig with Time Team (Series 13 – Withington), as well as digging at various other sites around the country. I’m also interested in experimental archaeology and was delighted to be asked to join a team of volunteers earlier this year to work on the Stonehenge Neolithic House Project.

I was a Weekend Venturer at Flag Fen last summer (I have the t-shirt to prove it!) and whilst the weather was somewhat damp, I had a great time.  I’m back this year with a whole heap of experience to offer and I can’t wait to get stuck in.’

Thanks Suzanne, we hope you are looking forward to adding a Leiston Abbey T-shirt to your collection!
