DigVenturer John came to Flag Fen last year. Here he tells us why he is looking forward to coming back for more…

“I joined the Time Team club as a new hobby and attended all 3 of the weekend digs. I’ve always been interested in history, and working on the digs was really enjoyable and I wish they had done more. I found out about DigVentures’ dig at Flag Fen on facebook, from fellow Time Club members. Eager to learn more, I signed up for a week… but now I wish I’d done all 3! Everything was interesting: the trenches, the people and the special guests. After a hard days digging, sitting in a roundhouse around a fire was wonderful. It made me think that it must have been this way for thousands of years; a community talking, drinking and laughing together in a warm, dry space after a hard days graft.
