Venturer profile: Sarah Clark

I’m a fifty year-old lab assistant working at Southampton University in the Life Sciences department.

I’ve had an interest in Flag Fen since May 2008, when I spent a week there assisting a friend with some geophysical survey work for her PhD project. The staff at the centre were so friendly, and I found the archaeology of the site utterly fascinating.

This is a part of this country’s history that until recent years has been completely unknown to most people, and we’re in danger of losing it forever before it’s been properly explored. I feel it’s just so important to understanding who we are, and where we came from, that I had to make a contribution. I only wish it could have been more, and I definitely wish I could get along to help with the dig! Sadly that’s not to be but I’ll be following progress with close interest.
