OMG OMG

This is what happens when you push past a crowdfunding goal for archaeology.

Last night was a magical night here at DigVentures and we’re still recovering from the incredible response to our matchfunding announcement.

Because last night was the night we went from 97% to 98% to 99.5% to 100% of our target. By coincidence we were all eating ice cream when it hit us… We’ve raised 102% of our target!

And we were like OMG. That’s right… Oh. My. Geo! Geophysics!

That extra 2% means we can now do some EXTRA geophysics and create an underground map of a whole new previously uninvestigated area – who knows what we’ll find??

As we’ve always said, the more people we have supporting the dig, the more archaeology we can do, and with that extra 2% we’re going to do more geophysics. With enough support we could even open a whole new trench!

So yes, we’ve raised 102% of our target (THANK YOU – you’re all absolute legends), and the amazing thing is we’ve still got 2 days to go!

There’s plenty more archaeology we can do at Leiston Abbey (yes, we have an extensive wishlist of questions to answer about the site’s medieval life that we’d love to make happen) – especially now that there’s more to explore with geofizz!

So with 2 days to go, there’s still time to join the team online or in the field… we challenge you to put us to the test – can you make us do even more?

Support great archaeology

DigVentures crowdfunds archaeological projects that everyone can be part of, in the UK and overseas. With help from people all over the world, we investigate the past and publish our discoveries online for free. Support one of our digs and you can choose to excavate alongside our team, or watch our discoveries online!
