Where on earth has the DV team been since we left Flag Fen? Find out here!

We’re baaaaaaaaaaaack!

After the amazingness of Flag Fen Lives this summer, the DV team needed a bit of time to recuperate and adjust to life outside the campsite. Since we last posted, we’ve been all over the place at conferences, lectures and meetings doing our best to spread the word about our fantastic excavation season. We miss you guys!

Though we are still waiting on the archaeological post-excavation information, we’ve been able to report on initial project results – and they are quite impressive. Our first stop was the European Association of Archaeologists Conference in Helsinki, Finland at the end of August. We barely had time to get the dirt out from under our fingernails before we had to get scrubbed up and presentable! The great news is that Flag Fen Lives went down a storm with our colleagues worldwide, of course! Next up is the Digital Archaeology conference in London at UCL on 9th November – registration is now open, come along and see us there.

What’s next for DigVentures?

Don’t worry, we’re working on it and will have loads to tell everyone soon about where we will be digging, and what other opportunities we’re planning, in 2013. Hold on to your hats, folks – it’s going to be a great year! It all begins on the 10th November at our End of Site party, in London at the Sun and 13 Cantons pub. We’ll be there from 7:00pm – 11pm for some drinks, gossip and dancing. Come along and join us – the more the merrier. It’s time to see Dave Britchfield get his boogie on, and Matt Juddery get ‘Lost in the Woods,’ and the inevitable MC Hammer dance-off between Raksha and Lisa. Not to be missed!
