Welcome to the People of Jane Pit!
The People of Jane Pit project got off to a flying start this week as a dedicated bunch of volunteers started the mammoth task of sifting through the collection at the Helena Thompson Museum in Workington. Looking for documents, photographs, and drawings relating to Workington’s mining heritage, we’re pulling together information that will form the basis of activities and workshops coming up over the coming months. It’s brilliant working with such an engaged and knowledgeable group of people and we can’t wait to see what they dig up!
