Scarp
A scarp is a steep bank or slope. In fortifications this refers to the bank or wall immediately in front of the rampart.

Scarp - sky view factor
This can also reflect specifically to the inner (closest to the area being surrounded) sloped wall of a ditch. The opposite wall is the counterscarp.
