Dig Season 2022 is coming…
Save the date! Our crowdfunded digs will open for booking on 01 December 2021, with Early Booking for Subscribers available from 24 November 2021.
It has been an extraordinary archaeological year for all of us at DigVentures. Thousands of adults and children have come to take part in our excavations around the UK. Together, we’ve made a whole series of discoveries: in July we discovered a previously unknown 13th century castle in Shropshire; in August we unearthed an early Roman ‘B&B’ in East Yorkshire; in September we made discoveries at Lindisfarne that have completely shifted our understanding of one of the most iconic early medieval cemeteries in the country; and in October we revealed the remains of a stunning Tudor garden at Sudeley Castle (talk about archaeology fit for a Queen!)
All of this has been achieved with the support of our community – people from across the country and around the world who love archaeology, and want to help make groundbreaking new discoveries about the past.
With your help, Dig Season 2022 will be just as epic!

Our goal in 2022 is to continue investigations at all of our flagship digs, so that we can take our understanding of these sites to the next archaeological level.
It doesn’t matter whether you’ve never done archaeology before, are a regular on community excavations around the country, or want to bring an enthusiastic child along, there’s something for you.
Whichever dig you choose to join, you’ll learn top notch archaeological field skills, spend loads of time alongside our team, and meet tonnes of people who love archaeology too!
And remember: if you can’t join us in person, you can join us online to experience the dig and interact with our team virtually instead.
If you’re hoping to join us, make sure you bookmark 01 December in your diaries! Early Booking is available for Subscribers from 24 November 2021. You can find out more about becoming a Subscriber here.
Born from a mission to connect people who love archaeology, with opportunities to do archaeology, we really look forward to seeing you on site – or online – next year!
