Following on from our hugely popular Spot The Hunter-Gatherers survey, it’s time for the next stage our Spodden Valley Revealed project in partnership with Mid Pennine Arts (with support from National Lottery players, the Ernest Cook Foundation, Newground Together, Lancashire Environment Fund, Whitworth Town Council and Lancashire County Council).

We’re heading to Brown Wardle Hill near Whitworth to excavate an 18th century settlement. Taking part is absolutely FREE, and we’ll teach you all the skills you need to excavate alongside our team. All you need to do is register below, and arrange your own food and transport.
