Starting in early 2020, DigVentures and Rathmell Archaeology will be working together as partners to co-design a programme of training and enable the community of the Garnock Connections region to explore, celebrate and contribute new knowledge to their area.

Rathmell Archaeology are based within the Garnock Connections region and have a wealth of experience and knowledge of the local archaeology as well as wider Scottish Archaeology. Together, we will deliver a series of workshops in the Garnock Connections region to investigate the following topics and ideas:

๐Ÿ—บ The Places That We Know: investigating and exploring maps, documents and archives

๐Ÿฐ The Places That We Know: exploring cultural heritage

๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ People Make Places: exploring place through people we meet

๐Ÿ“š Sharing Our Stories

These workshops aim to broaden the skills and knowledge of local people, and to enable local people to contribute to the Places That We Know app, a digital resource that will map a variety of heritage trails created by the people of the Garnock Connections project area.

During the pandemic, many of these workshops will be online and easily accessible. Any workshops we are able to do in person will be conducted according to strict safety protocols.
