Simon Collister

Professional armchair archaeologist, Simon, tell us why he is ditching the remote control for a trowel this summer

“Why did you join DigVentures?
I’ve been an ‘armchair archaeologist’ for years, since the early days of Time Team, but up until now I’ve never had the opportunity to get out into the field. At the same time I’ve been involved with social media and a range of user-generated projects. When I saw that the two had been combined, it was the perfect opportunity to finally experience some archaeology!

What are you looking forward to the most about this summer’s dig?
To be honest, simply getting hands on and experiencing an archaeological dig for the first time!

How did you hear about us?
Ironically, despite being social media savvy, I actually heard about DigVentures when I saw the Flag Fen article in our local newspaper.”

Thanks Simon, great to have you on board.
