New Venturer Diana tells us a little bit about herself
“I’m a PhD student at Cambridge, where I study microbiology. I’m British but I grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and I have absolutely no experience in archaeology. My mother’s a history buff and that’s rubbed off on me. I’ve wanted to try out archaeology for a while now, but the opportunity has never arisen (nothing convenient, anyway – a friend invited me to a site she works at in Israel, but it’s not exactly a weekend getaway!). Anyway, my mother is incredibly jealous that I’ve signed up for this, so I’ll be sure to pass on all the juicy details of the experience and make her pea-green with envy! (Though it is her fault — she saw an article about the DigVentures Flag Fen project last year on the BBC website and passed it on to me).”
Thanks Diana, we hope DigVentures will be the perfect introduction to archaeology for you.
